good balance of magic and attacking.

My favorite party as well. I'm playing with it right now in Gurgu Volcano.

This is the first party I ever took and the first party I beat the game with way back in like 1990. This one and F/Th/WM/BM are the best parties in the Game hands down. Kick ass magic and competant fighting skills, the red mage is a good fighter with the sun sword.

4 fighters is actually better than this party. Balance doesn't matter at all in this game

Totally Disagree with Winz (no offense). Balance may not matter to winning, but it does to fun. With this party, you get to sample both kinds of magic AND physical attacking. Best party conceivable.

My sister beat the game with this party and I helped her. The party I beat the game is with Fi,Th,RM,BM, but that was on Dawn of Souls. Plus I did the extra dungeons except for the Earth level and the Water level

And I beat the game at level 74. How far would I get in the NES version.

Anyway, I wonder what Brian thinks of this party. I
love it. Basically take kick ass on a whole new level. Reminds me of playing a FF6 party with Mog, Terra, Relm and Gogo.

By the way, is FFXI any good?

THis party is great if you like Magic, but still need someone to use as a meat shield. The Fighter will absorb a lot of the damage, and then you can use your mages to rock everything else. Undead won't be a match for you, and in all the other battles just have your White Mage making sure your HP isn't low. The Red Mage can do whatever the job is at hand, so if they need to slash, they can, and if they need to blow crap up, they can, and if they need to heal or protect someone, they can. Its really expensive though, which would be a bit of a problem early on when you're still fighting Imps. But in general its a really fun party to use.

What's wrong with you Tsurgi? FF7 is one of the best. For me, it'd be
FF1
FF7
FF12
FF2
FF6
FF4

FF9 was one of the worst, along with 10. 8 somewhere in the middle.

FFII was Godawful and you know it. The broken levelling system made it pretty much unplayable.

Proteus said:

Okay, I agree that 7 wasn't all that great. Everyone was a fighter with magic toys, plus the story fell FAR short of it's potential. 8 on the other hand, surpassed it's storyline potential phenomenally. Granted, it too had a broken magic system, but the tale was so good I overlooked that. And how could ANYONE say 10 was bad? The socio/political and religious issues of that one mirrored those of the real world in a fantastic yarn that nearly had me in tears at the end (And I'm a dude).

Corem said:

I disagree. 7 is, by far, one of the best FFs. It allowes you to pick which character's which. And 10-2 and 12 take that even further. 8 is pretty much impossible to beat unless your characters levels are maxed, but it did have a good story. 10 was lacking a lot for me, don't have much of an agrument there cause i didn't really play it, i got bored. But don't think i didn't see the whole game, watched my other family members play it all the way through, and still found it lacking. Guess we just have diffrent tastes. And as for II, it was originally computer based, and i'm sure it was just to test some things out, but i still liked it, the story was good over all. And what's wrong with everyone having magic?

This party is OK but you need to replace the fighter with a BB.

Jesus, you retards need to stop arguing over which FF game is the best. This comment section is here to talk about how effective this party is in FF1. Go to some other forum to waste your lives arguing about which FF game is best. Stop wasting the lives of people like me who came here to read about how effective this party is.

By the end of the Chaos fight, my Knight had 18 HP.

Everybody else was dead.

That doesn't mean it's a bad party. Hell, Chaos went down, right? But it's definitely very vulnerable. The whole game is about who strikes first cuz nobody can stop the Mages' power, but they can't handle much either, and the Fighter will only be hit MOST of the time.

Corem said:

Worth trying. I think I'll use this one next time I pick up the game.

Winz said:

Red Mages and black mages hinder you late in the game unless you overlevel(red mage because his spell charge progression stinks and he can't use good armor, and black mage due to low hp). Try subbing a fighter for the red mage and another white mage for the black mage and you will dominate even at low levels
