Dude the graphics on this game are like Pokemon (Yes, I have this game) but the gameplay is just as addicting as any FF game out there and the graphics are slicker and way more sleek than the turd I've seen for the NES (No offense people). If you have seen the opening video for it and compared it to the other graphics on the PSP, you would definitely agree with me. It's like pictures [literally].

The opening movie was stolen from the ps1 remake (the only good remake of the game). Other than that it's not much better than the game boy advance remake. in other words it's pretty much a piece of crap. I love final fantasy 1, but they ruined the game. its waaaaaaaaaay too easy, just like the gba version (dawn of souls). the only one that stayed truest to the original is the ps1 version (ff:origins).

Addict, lighten up, you got to admit its a way far improvement. I mean to say, the game has way snazzier graphics and looks a lot sharper than that "turd on black screen" graphics that made the GBA (I think) game so memorable. Either way, the PSP version is way better and Addict don't be so tough on the PSP. It's almost level with its big brothers, and seeing that its only been out about a year and a half, that's definitely something. Oh yeah, and Sony stopped making PS1s. (Sorry to remind you if you already know that)

The remakes are pretty different games from the NES version, but I find them enjoyable even if the difficulty is greatly reduced and some things have changed. It's amazing that FF1 continues to be popular at all after 20 years in any form.

Hee, "chillax".
I'm not actually opposed to the idea of remakes, there's just the fact that 90% of remakes don't include their own material to improve upon it.
And don't insult goldfish like that, Tox. :D

i wasn't trying to insult the psp, and i know it's been aeons since sony made a ps1. i was just saying how the first remake was the best remake. and of course if you compare any nes games with that of later systems (like xbox or ps2) of course the games will look like crap. but considering what they could do on the nes, the game was still decent looking. yes the graphics are better, but a game is more than just graphics.
yes i'm a nerd and proud of it. and tox, don't insult the goldfish like that. they deffinately have better grammer.

They should port the 3D DS (FF3 and FF4) games to the PSP (without the DS features, of course). That would be awesome.

The Newest thing besides the GBA dungeons is the Labyrinth of Time which is a 30-room dungeon with a time limit and the GBA Chaos Souls have their own boss theme from III to VI.

I think the port's great. I would've loved a drastically 3D-changed FF as with FF3 on the DS, but it's still a great port. I mean, the new Hi-Res sprites are sweet, the music, everything.
Can't say anything bout the difficulty tho, since I just got the game.

Level system is VERY different in this one. On NES, my party was level 27 when I finished, but on PSP, it was around 50.
I don't think this remake is AWFUL, but it's nowhere near as good as NES.

Hey I've completed Final Fantasy on the PS1 and on the Gameboy, I've bought the PSP version but i'm not going to play it until I beat the NES version, so far I'd say the Playstation version is my favourite becuase it is a little more accessible than the NES version but still challengeing while the GBA version is pretty easy, but the new dungeons are fun. So far i've only seen the PSP version and the graphics are brilliant, looking forward to playing it and seeing how it compares to the others.

Labyrinth of Time's Marching Orders challenge is still ok. Wait until you play the next one which is the f**king hard and insane timing needed to complete the challenge of "on the lights for tiles, at the same time make way for the robot to move". I gave up after about 20 tries. If the puzzle does not makes you mad, the Holy and Black dragon would make you spent all your MP sooner or later.
