Fighter and Red Mage are mostly the same in the hand-to-hand category, but Fighter has CRAP for magic defence, and Red Mage has all sorts of spells on his side. RED MAGE FTW! |

The RM should win, I mean even though the Fighter can equip better, the RM can use Magic against which the Fighter has no defense against.

Red Mage should win? ...I don't think so. Fighter (or Warrior) is clearly better in physical combat; more strength, better defence, better equipment and so on. He does not know magic, but at least he is clearly useful member in your party - unlike Red Mage. |
